BMP280 Pressure Sensor

The BMP280 barometric pressure and altitude sensor I2C/SPI module can measure barometric pressure and temperature with very good accuracy. We can also use it as an altimeter with an accuracy of ± 1 meter since the pressure changes with altitude. Barometric pressure accuracy is ±1 hPa and ±1.0°C for temperature. It is an ideal pressure sensor that you can use in Arduino projects and Raspberry Pi projects. Basically, you can learn everything you need to know about atmospheric conditions from this little sensor. The BMP280 Pressure Sensor is designed for use in indoor/outdoor navigation, weather forecasting, home automation and even personal health and wellness monitoring. This module is a barometric pressure sensor, a new generation upgrade of the popular BMP085/BMP180/BMP183 sensors, and is perfect for detecting all kinds of weather conditions. This precision sensor can be used in both I2C and SPI.

Pressure Sensor Usage Areas:

  • More precise temperature, atmospheric pressure and approximate altitude data
  • in improving GPS navigation
  • In indoor navigation (floor detection, elevator detection)
  • In outdoor navigation, entertainment and sports applications
  • in the weather forecast
  • in healthcare applications
  • Used in vertical speed display (eg ascent/descent speed)
